NORTH GEORGIA WOMEN RECEIVE 10 VOTES IN THIS WBCA POLL

Dahlonega, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University received 10 votes in this week’s USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. It marks the seventh consecutive week the Lady Saints have received votes this season.

The Lady Saints challenge Lander University this evening as they look to win their 12th consecutive game and 15th Peach Belt Conference contest. North Georgia is currently 18-3 overall and in the driver’s seat to win their fifth consecutive conference championship and first PBC championship.

PBC rival Clayton State University remained 18th in this week’s poll. The 18-3 Lady Lakers will travel to Dahlonega on February 22 for the Lady Saints final home game of the season.

2005 NCAA DII National Champion Washburn University continues to dominate the polls as they secured 22 first place votes. The Lady Blues have now won 41 games in a row dating back to last season. North Dakota took one more first place votes this week as they remained second in the nation. Emporia State also held its ground, remaining third this week.

The USA Today ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 27 head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
