#15 LADY SAINTS SCORE BIG ON
SENIOR DAY
NGCSU Defeats SWU 92-71
Dahlonega, Ga. – Senior forward Brandi Owen (Cornelia, Ga.) had a big day for #15 North Georgia College & State University as she and senior guard Katie Schleisman (Suwanee, Ga.) were both honored on Senior Day. Owen scored her 1000 career point in the Lady Saints final home game of the season to give North Georgia a 92-71 win over Southern Wesleyan University.
It took two minutes for either team to score the first points of the game, but after junior forward Jeanine Dorminey (Tifton, Ga.) sunk two free throws, the Lady Saints never gave up the lead for the remainder of the game.
Owen scored 13 of her game high 23 points in the first half, and scored her 1000 career point on a put-back lay-up five minutes into the second half. She led four North Georgia players in double-figures and was only three rebounds shy of recording her third double-double of the season. Schleisman performed just as well in her final home game as a Lady Saint with nine points, six rebounds, and three assists.
North Georgia led by as many as 30 points in the game, and shot 49% (32-for-66) from the field in the game. The Lady Warriors shot well from the floor, 44% (26-for-59) from the field and 46% (5-for-11) from behind the arc, but could not stop the Lady Saints attack.
