LADY SAINTS ROLL OVER LADY CANES 96-53
Americus, Ga. - North Georgia College and State University defeated Georgia Southwestern State University in basketball Thursday night, 96-53, improving their record to 8-6 and 4-1 in the Southern States Athletic Conference. With the loss, the Lady Canes fall to 4-9 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
The Lady Saints had five players in double figures with junior guard Katie Williamson (Suwanee, Ga.) leading all scorers with 22 points. Senior forward Brandi Owen (Cornelia, Ga.) had 19 points, followed by freshman guard Megan Huffman (Woodstock, Ga.) and senior guard Katie Schleisman (Suwanee, Ga.) with 18 points each. Freshman forward Rachel Jolley (Covington, Ga.) was also in double figures with 10 points.
GSW was led by Arlicia McCain and Allana Alexander who each had 15 points.
Next up for the Lady Saints is a game this Saturday against conference rival Auburn Montgomery University at 2:00 p.m. cst.
