#6 FREED-HARDEMAN SLIPS PAST #7 NORTH GEORGIA 71-68
IN FINAL GAME OF CARUSO’S CLASSIC

Dahlonega, Ga. - The Lady Saints broke out to an early lead, but in the end the Lady Lions won the battle of ranked teams 71-68 in the final game of Caruso’s Classic hosted by North Georgia College & State University.

In the first half both teams struggled from the field as FHU shot 32% and North Georgia shot 21%. Lady Saints junior forward Katie Schleisman (Suwanee, G.a.) led all scorers in the half with 10 points and hit two big three pointers for North Georgia. By the end of the first half North Georgia was up 31-27.

In the second half, Lady Lions junior guard Ashlee Robertson (Collinwood, Tenn.) went on a tear as she scored 22 of her team high 29 points. Sophomore forward Stacy Myers (Waynesboro, Tenn.) recorded a double-double for FHU a she scored 14 points and came down with 10 rebounds for the Lady Lions. Lady Saints freshman forward Rachael Jolley (Covington, G.a.) also scored a double-double as she led North Georgia with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Saints were unable though to defeat the FHU attack as the Lady Lions out scored North Georgia 44-37 in the second half to win the game.

With the win, FHU improves to 8-1 and will take part in the Cumberland Classic this weekend in Lebanon, Tenn. North Georgia now stands at 4-4 this season and will travel to Cleveland, Tenn. tonight to take on Lee University in their first conference game of the season.
