MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -. Berry's Mickey Duncan finished with game highs of 21 points and nine rebounds, but the Lady Vikings dropped a 72-63 decision to No. 25 North Georgia in a Southern States Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Mount Berry Monday.
Duncan racked up strong numbers despite playing much of the game with a broken nose, which she suffered in the first half after catching an elbow. She scored 11 of her points in the second half.
Duncan was joined in double figures by Britney Wetherington, who scored 16 points, and Lauren Phillips and Mallory Ranfos, who added 10 points apiece for Berry.
The Lady Vikings (19-10, 12-6 SSAC) led 31-21 at halftime, but were saw their lead evaporate when North Georgia went on a 13-2 run in the second half that put the Lady Saints ahead 43-42. The teams traded the lead twice after that before North Georgia pulled away in the final five minutes.
Megan Huffman led North Georgia with 18 points, while Kaitie Williamson added 16 and Jeanine Dorminey and Katie Schleisman added 13 apiece.
