LADY SAINTS MOVE TO #13 IN NAIA POLL
Dahlonega, Ga. – With two wins last week, the North Georgia College & State University women's basketball team moved up to #13 in the latest NAIA national ranking.
Winning by an average of 21 points in their last three games, the Lady Saints defeated Shorter College and Southern Wesleyan University last week to move to 20-7 overall and 16-2 in the conference. With a win this Monday against Berry and a trip to eighth ranked Brewton-Parker College tomorrow, North Georgia could win its fourth consecutive conference championship with two more wins this week.
The top three teams stayed the same as Houston Baptist stayed on top of the poll with 298 points and 10 first place votes. Freed-Hardeman University dropped from fourth to sixth place and Oklahoma City and Point Loma Nazarene each moved up one spot to fourth and fifth.
The Lady Barons remained in eighth place while Southern States Athletic Conference rival Lee University slipped from 22nd to tied for 24th in this week's poll. Berry College received two votes for the poll this week for the fifth straight week.
The Lady Saints will clash with Brewton-Parker tomorrow in the final game of the regular season for North Georgia, and possibly the conference championship for an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship in Jackson, Tenn.
