NORTH GEORGIA TAKES TWO FROM JAGS IN AUGUSTA
Saints to host Moe's Classic starting Thursday afternoon

AUGUSTA, GA – North Georgia College & State University picked up a pair of road wins over Augusta State University Tuesday afternoon, taking game one 5-0 and game two 3-1 to sweep a doubleheader from the Jaguars in Peach Belt Conference action.
In game one, the Saints scored in the first inning with an RBI from Tiffany Blackburn putting them up 1-0.
With the Jags held scoreless, North Georgia picked up a run in the third with an RBI from Courtney McGuire and another two runs in the fourth with an RBI from Kasey Knight and a homerun from Blackburn, giving the Saints a 4-0 lead.
The Saints closed out the game plating a run in the seventh by Laura Voyles, topping the Jags 5-0.
Anna Tedder led the Jags going 3-for-4 at the plate while Laura Voyles led the Saints going 3-for-4 with a double in the fourth inning.
Sarah Phillips earned the win pitching all seven innings with four strikeouts and only six hits. The Jags' Kimberly Kennedy received the loss.
In game two, North Georgia rallied in the third inning to put up three runs. Kayla Martin had an RBI and Knight hit a two-run double to bring the Saints to 3-0.
The Jags answered back in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice bunt from Kayla Hicks driving in Leann Barber, to plate their only run of the day.
For the Jags, Anna Tedder went 2-for-3 with a double in the first inning, while North Georgia's Laura Voyles and Natasha Willemse had multiple hits.
Nicole Adkison earned the win for North Georgia allowing five hits. The Jags' Jacklyn Benenhaley received the loss.
North Georgia (22-6, 7-3 PBC) will return to action on Thursday for day one of the Moe’s Classic hosted by the Saints March 27-29.
