NAIA REGION XIII SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT BRACKET RELEASES
Saints Third Seed In Tournament
Orange Beach, Ala. – The eighth ranked Saints of North Georgia College & State University will be the third seed in the upcoming NAIA Region XIII Softball Tournament that will begin on May 9.
As one of the toughest regions in the country, the Region XIII Tournament will feature five top 25 teams in the nation, including top ranked Thomas University. The University of Mobile is ranked third in the nation followed by North Georgia. Spring Hill is 11th in this week's poll along with Lee University who is 17th. Faulkner University narrowly missed being ranked this week but did receive 10 votes in the poll.
Game one of the tournament will pit fourth seed Spring Hill College against fifth seed Lee University. The Saints will face a familiar opponent in the first round of the tournament for their noon game. Southern States Athletic Conference rival Faulkner University will take on North Georgia in the second game.
Thomas University will play the winner of game one and the University of Mobile will play either NGCSU or SHC. Two teams will be eliminated on Monday evening in elimination bracket with two games at 6:00 p.m.
The double elimination tournament begins Monday, May 9 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex and concludes on May 10 with the championship game at 5:00 p.m. The Region XIII winner will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship in Decatur, Ala. beginning May 20.
