SAINTS RETAIN 10TH SPOT FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK
Dahlonega, Ga. – After going 4-2 last week, the North Georgia College & State University softball team remained 10th in the nation in the latest rankings released by the NAIA National Office.
The Saints swept Georgia Southwestern State University and Emmanuel College this past week, but fell to Thomas University in a double header. The Saints are currently 27-12 overall and in first place in the Southern States Athletic Conference with a 15-1 record in the SSAC.
Lee University fell two spots in the polls to 20th and is currently one game behind North Georgia in the conference standings. The Lady Flames and Saints will play this upcoming week on Tuesday in a double header with national and conference standings up for grabs.
Thomas moved back into the top spot this week while former number one University of Mobile fell to third overall. Four new teams moved into the rankings this week while Evangel made the largest jump from 21st to 12th in the nation.
North Georgia will take to the diamond again this Saturday against Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon. The double header is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
