NORTH GEORGIA SWEPT BY LANDER ON THE HARDCOURT
Saints play a man down with injury to Sam Moore

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - North Georgia College & State University fell to Lander University 6-3 in women's action, and 9-0 in men's action here on a blustery Friday afternoon.

On the women's side, the Lady Saints captured three points with one of those coming at number two doubles when Caitie Murphy and Katherine Harrison defeated Lander's Nicholi Marsh and Ana Luiza Zaia 8-6. They also captured points at number five and number six singles. In number five singles, Amy Kearns defeated Zaia 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the a three-set thriller; while Jenny Bridges also picked up a three-set win over Marsh 5-7, 6-3, 11-9.

On the men's side, North Georgia fell to Lander after giving up two points at number three doubles and number six singles on forfeits due to a season-ending injury suffered by Sam Moore.

Lander swept through the singles, with Gustavo Carballal and Vlad Lumezeanu putting up the biggest fights for North Georgia. Carballal lost to Nick Tzekos, while Lumezeanu lost to Carlos Benatzky by identical 6-3, 6-2 scores. In doubles, the best chance the Saints had was at number two where Marijn Bal and Lumezeanu fell 8-3.
