NORTH GEORGIA SWEEPS EMMANUEL 9-0
Saints pick up third win of season
Dahlonega, Ga – North Georgia College & State University grabbed its third win of the season, blanking Emmanuel College 9-0 here on a windy Saturday afternoon.
In doubles action, Jake Eastwood and Gustavo Carballal defeated EC’s Phillips and Lanier 8-4 at #1; Samuel Moore and Marijn Bal defeated EC’s Sanders and Todd 8-3 at #2; and Vlad Lumezeanu and William Davis defeated EC’s Smith and Harris 8-3 at #3.
In singles action, North Georgia’s Eastwood defeated EC’s Phillips 6-0, 6-1 at #1; Moore followed at #2 with a victory over EC’s Todd 6-0, 6-3; Bal handled EC’s Lanier 6-2, 6-1 at #3 and Carballal blanked EC’s Smith
6-0, 6-0 at #4; Lumezeanu defeated EC’s Sanders 6-0, 6-0 at #5, and Davis capped off North Georgia’s sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win over EC’s Workman.
North Georgia (3-6, 0-3 PBC) will return to action on Tuesday March 6, as they host Columbus State University in a Peach Belt Conference matchup. The match will be played in Alpharetta, Ga at the Windward Lake Club starting at 12:30 pm.
