SAINTS ROLL TO 7-2 VICTORY OVER CANES

Dahlonega, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University improved to 3-1 on the season as they defeated Georgia Southwestern State University 7-2 in men’s tennis action.

After sweeping through the doubles matches, the Saints looked to put away the Canes (2-5) entering into the singles contests. Junior Vlad Lumezeanu fell 2-6 in his first set to Amyn Soldier, but fought right back as he swept the second set 6-0. Lumezeanu was pushed to 2-5 and broke four match points before falling 4-6 in the final set.

North Georgia rebounded and took the next three singles matches to finish off GSW. Sophomore Alex Rodas put the finishing touches on the match as he defeated Chris Horton-Cook 6-1, 6-2 to win his third match of the year.

The Saints will play again on March 7 against Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia College & State University at 3:00 p.m. in Milledgeville.
