The Saints (7-4-2, 2-3-1) jumped out to an early lead five minutes into the match after junior forward Ryan Whittington received a pass from senior forward Ciro Pelliccia. The lead only lasted five minutes before Pacers' (2-8-2, 1-2-0) junior midfielder Tommy Rushing snagged a long pass and knocked it in for the score.
The score remained tied at the half, but it did not take long for Aiken to take the lead in the second session. Rushing touched the ball to junior forward Emmanuel Maduka, who finished the play and gave the Pacers a 2- 1 advantage eight minutes into the half. Both teams fought hard through out the second half, with North Georgia working to come from behind. The Saints finally broke through the Aiken defense in the 78th minute off the foot of freshman midfielder Will Maxwell. Five minutes passed with a tied score before Saints sophomore goalie Chapin LaChance blasted a ball down field. As the ball landed on the other side of the pitch it was knocked around and slid in the back of the net to give North Georgia the 3-2 lead for good.
The Saints out shot Aiken 17-6 in the match and dominated the shots on goal 9-3. Senior goalkeeper Marcos Rodriquez took the loss in a hard fought match in which he finished with five saves. LaChance picked up his fourth win of the season in goal with one save.
