Rene' Alvarez scores his first Hat Trick of the season
Montgomery, Ala. - North Georgia improved its Southern States Athletic Conference record to 4-1-1 by defeating Faulkner University 12-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Junior forward Rene' Alvarez (Dahlonega, Ga.) scored the first match of the game in the 10th minute off of an assist by junior forward Ciro Pelliccia (Conyers, Ga.). Alvarez netted two more goals in the first half and Pelliccia picked up the assist hat trick with two more assists in the second half. Picking up two goals for the Saints was junior midfielder Kent Thronton (Kathleen, Ga.) who knocked in back-to-back goals in the 43rd and 44th minutes.
The North Georgia defense did its part and did not allow the Eagles a shot or corner kick the entire match. The Saints also dominated on the offensive end of the field as they out shot Faulkner 37 to 0.
