NGCSU SHUTS OUT EMMANUEL 3-0

Dahlonega, Ga. - The Saints (8-3-2, 6-1-1) picked up their eighth win of the season and their sixth Southern States Athletic Conference victory today as they defeated Emmanuel College (4-7-0, 2-5-0) 3-0 this afternoon at the North Georgia Soccer Complex.

Neither team could score a goal in the first half, but 13 minutes into the second half junior midfielder Henry Rohde (San Salvador, El Salvador) scored off of an assist from junior forward Ciro Pelliccia (Conyers, Ga.). Pelliccia added his second assist of the match when he connected with junior midfielder Jonathan Cueva (Quito, Ecuador) in the 62nd minute. The final goal of the match was scored by Pelliccia when he connected on assist from junior midfielder Rene' Alvarez (Dahlonega, Ga.) and ran the ball past the goalie.

Next up for North Georgia is a non-conference home match against Oglethorpe University this Thursday at 7:30 pm. The Lions will face off against Brewton-Parker College at home on Tuesday in a SSAC match scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
