SAINTS FALL ON ROAD TO GCSU
Saints lead early but fall to deeper GCSU in PBC action

Milledgeville , GA - North Georgia College & State University led early in the first half, but could not overcome the depth of Georgia College & State University, falling 86-63 at the Centennial Center in Peach Belt Conference action Saturday afternoon.

After the leading the contest in the first three minutes, the Saints fell to the depth of the Bobcats for the remainder of the contest - as the home team played 13 players during the 40-minute contest.

North Georgia shot 44.2 (19-for-43) percent from the floor and 30 (3-for-10) percent from behind the arc. They also shot 84.6 (22-for-26) percent from the free throw line.

Meanwhile, GCSU shot 50.8 (33-for-65) percent from the floor and 55 (11-for-20) percent from behind the arc. The achilles heel for the Bobcats Saturday afternoon was free throw shooting, connecting on just 56.3 (9-for-16) percent from the line.

Aaron Clark and Shaun Keaton paced four Georgia College & State University (16-5, 6-4 PBC) players in double figures, with 18 points each. Clark shot 8-of-11 from the floor, and grabbed seven rebounds. Keaton, meanwhile, went 6-of-11 from the floor and 4-of-7 from behind the arc. Aaron Gibbs connected for 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc. Levert Carter added 10 points (perfect 5-of-5 from the floor) and eight rebounds in the victory.

North Georgia was led by junior Jay Anderson connecting for 25 points off the bench. He was 9-of-13 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw, maintaining his lead in the Peach Belt Conference in free throw shooting. Anthony Rowe chipped in 12 points on 4-of-9 from the floor, while Ryan Franklin added 11 points on 6-of-7 from the free throw line.

North Georgia (4-18, 0-11 PBC) will look for their first Peach Belt Conference victory of the season when they host USC Aiken Wednesday night at Memorial Hall. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
