SAINTS FALL TO #11 BLUE RAIDERS 78-72 IN NON-CONFERENCE

Columbia, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson men's basketball turned a 14-point deficit into a 78-72 victory over North Georgia State and College University Friday night at Biggers Sports Center.
North Georgia's Buzz Wehunt connected on a 3-point basket with 4:08 left in the first half to give the Saints a 29-15 lead, their largest of the game.
The Blue Raiders responded with an 11-3 run to finish the first half of play with North Georgia leading 34-28 at the break..
The No. 11-ranked Blue Raiders took their first lead of the game with 12:56 remaining with a Stephen Russell three-point basket. Russell scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed a team-high ten rebounds in the Blue Raider win.
The next six minutes of the game had four ties and two lead changes.
North Georgia (0-1) regained the lead with 6:03 remaining at 63-61 from a Wehunt field goal. Wehunt scored 17 points in the game.
Lindsey Wilson junior guard John Fitzgerald hit a three-point basket with 5:27 left in the game to give the Blue Raiders the lead. Lindsey Wilson did not trail again.
Lindsey Wilson (4-0) connected on all eight free-throw attempts in the final minutes to withstand any Saints rally.
The Blue Raiders shot 44.4-percent (24-of-54) from the floor for the game and were 16-of-24 (66.7-percent) shooting in the second half.
North Georgia forward Marcus Robinson collected a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Saints.
Blue Raider senior guard Scott Cook finished with 26 points on eight-of-12 shooting.
