NORTH GEORGIA BLOWS PAST EMMANUEL 89-74

Dahlonega, Ga. - The Saints shot 55% from the floor for the game as they sailed past the Lions 89-74 Monday night in Memorial Gymnasiums. North Georgia closes 2004 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the Southern States Athletic Conference, while Emmanuel College drops to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

The Saints took the lead in the first half and never looked back as they jumped out to a 14-7 lead early in the first half. Lions sophomore guard Shavoye Brown's (Hartwell, Ga.) jumper at the 11:50 mark cut the lead to four, but that was the closest Emmanuel got for the rest of the game.

Dustin David looks to take a three

The Saints were led in the first by junior forward Dustin David (Nicholson, Ga.) who scored 11 of his 15 point in the first half after going 5-7 from the floor and 1-3 from behind the arc.

In the second half North Georgia's sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) took over the game and scored 15 points in the half. With 8:42 sophomore forward Mark Trust (Winder, Ga.) flushed a dunk off of an assist from Causey to give the Saints their largest lead of the game and make the score 73-48. In the final minutes of the second half, North Georgia stretched the court and let the clock play defense as time expired.

Emmanuel fought throughout the game, led by junior guard Ryan Frazee (Houston, Tx.) who shot 8-11 for the game and 4-5 from behind the arc. Frazee scored a game high 26 points while dishing out four assists.
