NGCSU BASKETBALL AMONG LEADERS IN NAIA STATISTICS
Dahlonega, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University men's and women's basketball teams are listed among the leaders in the latest statistics announced this week.
Junior guard Katie Williamson (Suwanee, Ga.) is ranked second in free throw percentage (89.7%) and junior forward Jeanine Dorminey(Tifton, Ga.) remained eighth in blocked shots (2.00 bpg). As a team, the Lady Saints are once again ranked in the top-20 in ten different statistical categories as a team. North Georgia is ranked fourth in blocks (4.93 bpg) and defensive rebounds (28.59 rbg), fifth in free throws (76.1%), and seventh in defensive field goal percentage (35.8%). North Georgia is also ranked 11 th in total rebounding offense (41.59), 12 th in rebound margin (+7.28), 17 th in field goal percentage (44.6%), and 18 th in scoring (74.83 ppg).
On the men's side, sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) remains second in the nation in assists (6.90 apg), and 10th in free throw percentage (85.6%), but moved up to third in scoring (23.13 ppg). Sophomore forward Mark Trust (Winder, Ga.) is also listed as eighth in blocks (1.84 bpg) and 19th in defensive rebounds (5.68 rpg). As a team, the Saints continue to be ranked second in the nation in scoring (91.71 ppg), seventh in defensive rebounds (26.39 rpg), and moved up one spot to eighth in free throw percentage (74.1%). North Georgia is also ranked 11th in field goal percentage (49.7%), 12 th in blocks (3.84 bpg), 14th in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.14), and 19th in total rebounding offense (37.94).
This week, the men's and women's basketball teams compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference basketball tournament. The women play tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. at Berry College as they take on Emmanuel College. The men also play tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. in Marietta as they face off against Auburn University Montgomery.
