NGCSU BASKETBALL LISTED IN LATEST NAIA STATISTICS
Katie Williamson and Matt Causey Ranked 2 nd in FT and Assists
Dahlonega, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University men's and women's basketball teams are listed among the leaders in the latest statistics announced this week.
Junior guard Katie Williamson (Suwanee, Ga.) remained in ranked second in free throw percentage, hitting 89.7% (122-for-136) of her shots from the charity stripe this season. Junior forward Jeanine Dorminey (Tifton, Ga.) remained 12th in blocks (1.72 bpg) for the second straight week. As a team, the Lady Saints are ranked in the top-20 in nine different statistical categories as a team. North Georgia remained ranked first in free throw percentage (77.3%) and are currently fifth in defensive rebounds per game (28.24 rpg) and seventh in blocks (4.44 bpg). The Lady Saints are also ranked 10 th in field goal defense (32.6%) and total rebounding offense (41.68), 11 th in total rebounding margin (+7.56), 18 th in scoring (74.64 ppg) and field goal percentage (44.4%), and 20 th in scoring margin (+11.28).
On the men's side, sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) is now ranked second in the nation in assists (6.77 apg), fourth in scoring (21.96 ppg), and 11 th in free throw percentage (85.6%). Sophomore forward Mark Trust (Winder, Ga.) jumped back into the national rankings this week and is ranked 15 th in blocks (1.62 bpg) and 18 th in defensive rebounds (5.58 rpg). The Saints are ranked in seven different statistical categories, including third in scoring (91.54 ppg), fifth in defensive rebounds (26.65 rpg), tied for eight in field goal percentage (50.1%), ninth in free throw percentage (74.1%), 15 th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.15), and 20 th in total rebounding offense (37.92) and blocks (3.46 bpg).
The Saints and Lady Saints will battle Southern States Athletic Conference rival Shorter College tonight in Rome and will welcome Southern Wesleyan College to Memorial Gymnasium this Saturday.
