NORTH GEORGIA MEN DROP ONE SPOT TO #22

Dahlonega, Ga. – The Saints posted a 3-1 record, with their only loss coming to new #1 Southern Polytechnic State University, this past week but fell one spot to #22 in the latest NAIA rankings released this week.

North Georgia defeated Southern States Athletic Conference opponents Berry College and Emmanuel College last week as well as NCAA Division III Piedmont College. The Saints only loss was a 105-101 defeat last Monday on the road against the Hornets. SPSU grabbed the #1 spot for the first time all season as they took 298 of the votes and 10 of 12 first place votes. Reinhardt College was the only other team listed in the poll as they received one vote.

Mountain State slipped one spot to second place in the rankings, but still received two first place votes. Lindsey Wilson tumbled to fourth place and Lewis-Clarke State made the biggest fall from eighth to 13th place. Three unranked teams moved back into the rankings with Union University moving to 18th and California Baptist and Brescia moving to 24th and 25th place.

The Saitnts play again on Thursday as they host Auburn University Montgomery at 8:00 p.m.
