NGCSU HIRES BUSBY AS ASSISTANT INFORMATION DIRECTOR
AND CROSS COUNTRY COACH
Dahlonega, GA - North Georgia College & State University Athletic Director Randy Dunn announced the hiring of Chris Busby as the new head Cross Country coach and assistant Sports Information Director.
Busby is a graduate of fellow SSAC member Reinhardt College and received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Information in 2002. While at Reinhardt, he was a member of the cross-country team during the 1999 season. After graduating from Reinhardt he worked at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC as an assistant SID. While at PC, Busby was a member of the 2003 NCAA Division II South Regional Baseball Tournament Committee and the College Sports Information Directors of America. Currently, he is finishing his master’s degree in Sports Studies at the University of Georgia. While at UGA, Busby has worked with the women’s soccer team as head statistician and taught a variety of physical education classes.
As assistant to SID Denise Bryant, Busby will assist with publications, media relations, web maintenance, and statistics for the nine Saints athletic programs. He will also work with NGCSU men’s and women’s cross country teams, who finished sixth and seventh respectively in last years NAIA Region XIII meet.
A native of Atlanta, GA, Busby, 24, is engaged to Cassie Irvin of Jasper, GA and they will be married in May of next year.
