BASEBALL, SOFTBALL, AND SOCCER CAMPS FINISH OUT SUMMER AT NORTH GEORGIA

Dahlonega, Ga. – Throwing, kicking, and hitting dominated the final week of camps at North Georgia College & State University. Baseball, soccer, and softball camps wrapped up this past week with each camper having fun and perfecting their skills.

Baseball camp cranked up for the second straight week as campers took to the field at the NGCSU Baseball Complex for five days of fun. Camp director Tom Cantrell and his staff instructed campers on hitting, fielding, and throwing fundamentals. Campers got an opportunity to showcase their skills on Thursday afternoon in a game.

Over 30 boys and girls tore up the soccer pitch during soccer camp at the NGCSU Soccer Complex. Head soccer coaches Chris Adams and Todd Eason helped campers improve their overall abilities as well as their position skills. Each afternoon, campers played each other in a seven-on-seven match.

Softball camp saw its final week of action as well. Head coach Mike Davenport and his staff guided campers on proper batting, throwing, and fielding techniques. Baseball campers joined the softball campers on the field to jump on the giant slip-n-slide and perfect their sliding technique.

As summer camps close out, North Georgia's intercollegiate teams will begin to take the field in preparation for their first season in the NCAA and Peach Belt Conference. Men's and women's soccer as well as cross country begin practice on August 8 as they gear up for their first matches and race of the 2005 season.
