SAINTS STEAL 5-3 ROAD WIN OVER BLAZERS IN 11 INNINGS
North Georgia's win-streak hits four

VALDOSTA, GA – North Georgia College & State University used a two-out, two-run triple in the eleventh inning by Craig Brisson to escape with a 5-3 victory over Valdosta State University Tuesday evening at Billy Grant Field in non-conference action.
North Georgia jumped on top in the first inning with a Kevin Morrison groundout to score Andre Airich and a single by Anders Oster to plate two runs and give the Saints an early 3-0 advantage.
Valdosta State would respond in the bottom of the opening frame with two runs of their own, and tied the game in second inning with a hit and the benefit of an error to make it 3-3 and set up a pitchers duel the rest of the way.
Eight scoreless innings by the Saints and the Blazers set up the eleventh inning two-out triple by Brisson to bring Daniel Petitti and Oster to plate for the game-winning runs.
Zach Black (1-2) picked up the win in relief as he went 4.1 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven, while Alex Simmons tossed 4.2 scoreless innings of his own, allowing just one hit and recording a strikeout.
North Georgia (14-11, 7-5 PBC) will look to put their fifth straight contest in the win column and record their second straight series sweep tomorrow afternoon as they take on these same Valdosta State Blazers at 4:00 p.m.
