FLANIGAN NAMED PBC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior slugged five homers in as many games last week

DAHLONEGA, GA – North Georgia College & State University's Rob Flanigan was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, announced this afternoon by the conference. This is the second North Georgia baseball player to receive a PBC weekly award this season.

Flanigan had a monster week for the Saints, hitting .578 with a 1.526 slugging percentage. The junior belted out five home runs, three doubles, 13 RBIs and scored nine runs.

He started the week going 2-4 against Anderson University, including a home run and a double before going 1-2 against Alabama-Huntsville and driving in another run. He then unloaded on Augusta State over the weekend, recording four hits, two home runs, and seven RBI’s in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon.

In the series finale, he pounded out four more hits in five tries, including two home runs and four runs batted in while scoring three runs. Flanigan is currently tied for fourth in the Peach Belt in home runs, fourth in batting average, fifth in runs scored and sixth in RBI.

North Georgia is in the midst of a six game win-streak that has seen them sweep a PBC series from Augusta State University, and take three non-conference games, including a 10-9 extra inning thriller this afternoon against West Georgia where Flanigan provided the game-winning hit in the 10th-inning.
