The Saints blew the game open in the second inning when they plated five runs on six hits. Warner started the inning with a single to left center, advancing to third on a single by Petitti through the right side on a hit-and-run. Krock brought Warner home with a single through the left side, sending Petitti to second with no outs. George then sacrificed both runners over on a bunt, allowing Airich to step to the plate and drive both runners home for a 4-1 North Georgia lead. On the same play, Airich advanced to second on a fielding error by the leftfielder. Tate then grounded out to short to advance Airich to third, when Morrison drove him home with a two-out single through the right side. Morrison stole second, and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher. He scored when Rickett doubled to right center for the final run of the inning and a 6-1 North Georgia lead.
