NORTH GEORGIA ERASES 13-12 DEFICIT, OUTSLUGS ANDERSON
Saints end four-game road losing streak

Anderson, S.C. - North Georgia College & State University outslugged Anderson University, ending a four-game road losing streak, and winning 20-15 here Tuesday afternoon.

After finding themselves down 13-12 after six, North Georgia rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead and pull away for the victory.

Craig Brisson started the inning with a one-out walk. He would stay there until two batters later, Josh Tate drew a two-out walk to put runners at first and second base. After Anderson changed pitchers, the Saints used an RBI single by freshman Brad Hall to score Brisson and move Tate to third, tying the score at 13-13. Justin Rickett loaded the bases with the third walk of the inning, setting the stage for Neil Krock. The junior single through the left side to score Tate and Hall, and give North Georgia a 15-13 lead. The inning was still alive with runners at first and second, when Kevin Morrison collected an RBI on a single to left to push the score to 16-13. That hit was followed up by a Creston Warner double to left center to increase the lead to 17-13.

Morrison finished the day 5-for-6 with two runs batted in, while Warner went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in. Freshman Andre Airich ended the day 3-for-6 with three runs batted in a homerun, while Brisson went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in. Hall finished the day with a pair of runs batted in a homerun.

Mike Peters (1-0) picked up his first collegiate win in relief, as he went 3 2/3 innings. He allowed two earned runs off of five hits.

North Georgia (3-7, 0-3 PBC) returns to action Saturday against fourth-ranked Montevallo. The game will be the first home game of the season for the Saints, beginning at 1 pm, and will be the first of a three-game set with the nationally-ranked Falcons.
