JUSTIN RICKETT NAMED PBC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Rickett becomes first repeat winner, and wins back-to-back awards
AUGUSTA, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University senior designated hitter/third baseman Justin Rickett was named the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Player of the Week, announced by the conference office this afternoon.
It is the second consecutive award for Rickett, and he is the first player to win the award back-to-back or to win multiple awards this season.
The senior designated hitter/third baseman continued his torrid pace this past week in Peach Belt Conference play. For the second straight week, he raised his average 50 points, going from .241 two weeks ago to .342 following the last series against Augusta State University.
This past week, he hit .588 overall (10-for-17) with two doubles and a homerun. He also drove in six more runs and added five himself.
Against Augusta State, Rickett hit .692 (9-for-13) with two doubles, a homerun, four runs scored and five runs batted in. Over a two-week span, Rickett has hit .583 (21-for-35) and in conference games hit .739 (17-for-23).
