NORTH GEORGIA ATHLETES NAMED TO PBC ALL-SPORTSMANSHIP TEAM
Dahlonega, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University women’s basketball senior Katie Williamson and baseball freshman Anders Oster were named to the first-ever Peach Belt Conference All-Sportsmanship team announced by PBC commissioner Marvin Vanover earlier this week.
Williamson, a native of Suwanee, GA and recent summa cum laude graduate, was a four-year starter for the Lady Saints, scored 1656 points in her career, and with a 109-24 overall record during her time at North Georgia helped lead the team to four consecutive conference championships, most recently the 2006 Peach Belt Conference Championship. Oster, a native of Lawrenceville, GA, competed in his first year of collegiate baseball, played in all 61 games, and held a .311 batting average with 25 RBIs. In addition, both athletes served on the 2005-2006 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Each PBC institution selected one male and one female representative to appear on the team. Each student-athlete on the All-Sportsmanship Team demonstrated consistently good sportsmanship and ethical behavior in his or her daily participation in PBC athletics and good citizenship outside of his or her sports setting.
