NORTH GEORGIA SUFFERS 8-4 LOSS TO EMORY
Atlanta, Ga. - Brandon Custer went 3-for-4 driving in two runs and scoring twice as No. 14 Emory University (6-3) defeated North Georgia College and State University, ranked 7th in NAIA, 8-4.
Tom Mieczkowski earned his second win of the season, pitching four innings and giving up one run. Mieczkowski struck out three batters.
Senior co-captain Josh Barrett went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and a run scored. Barrett recorded his 11th stolen base of the season and the 73rd of his career, second all-time in Emory school history.
Shortstop Taylor Gettinger went 1-for-4 while driving in three runs.
Anthony Vidal started the game for the Eagles and pitched through five innings. He struck out seven while giving up three runs.
Ryan Lollar and Griffin Baum each drove in a run for Emory. Lollar, starting at designated hitter, recorded his second steal of the season.
