A Message from Chairman Ed Nix

Together we can build the university of tomorrow. North Georgia College & State University has from the beginning played a valuable role in the lives of so many citizens of Georgia. We have trained leaders in business and industry, government, education, journalism, science and medicine, and the military. In every endeavor, our graduates have served the communities and countries where they have lived.

North Georgia is doing very well. Our student body is around 4600. The entering freshman SAT's are near 1100. Our graduation rate is among the highest in the state. The quality of our faculty is outstanding. In recognition of these achievements, Consumer's Digest rated NGCSU as the 5 th best value in the country among its peers.

But North Georgia has many challenges going forward in meeting the demands of a rapidly growing population in the northern section of Georgia. The university is planning for that growth and has defined needs for additional teaching and learning space, a new library, residence halls, a greater number of fulltime faculty, expanded student research opportunities, student scholarships and work options and funds to strengthen each of the four schools at the University.
