Plan your own event

Think of all the cool places you'd like to go with your friends - and how much more fun it would be with more friends!

These are suggestions, but you decide...

•  Social events:

- Tour local attractions (like the aquarium)
- Holiday get-togethers
- Wine tasting, vineyard tours, beer tasting
   tours
- Boat cruises, white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking
- Hiking or biking
- Sky diving
- Happy Hours after work

•  Educational events:

- Career networking events (sometimes it's "who you know.")
- Lectures from alumni on professional interest topics
- Events involving beloved faculty
- Local speakers on topics of local interest (like politicians or local historians)
- Presentations by students (you know how proud you were of your projects!)
- Informational panels (such as inviting older alumni to speak about their
   professions or by serving as a panel member yourself - giving current students
   "the scoop" on life after graduation)
- Help at college fairs and talk to prospective NGCSU students

•  Community Service:

- Benefit events for local non-profits (like a "Race for the Cure")
- Community service days (like a "clean-up-the-park day")
- Work groups (like Habitat for Humanity)
- Help your civic group (like the one your employer requires you to be part of!)
   get more volunteers for their big event by inviting your GOLD friends to help
- Wrap holiday gifts for a children's outreach program

•  Sports events:

- Support NGCSU games in your area
- Receptions or tailgates at pro-sports games
- Block seating at local pro-sports games (NGCSU can help obtain the tickets
   for you to sell)

•  Cultural events:

- Tour local historical attractions together
- Attend concerts, theater productions, museums, art shows
- Attend performances in your area by NGCSU students (choirs, etc.)

You pick the place, and your GOLD Area Coordinator and NGCSU will help with the promotion!
