How to Auto Delete Unwanted E-mail in GroupWise WebAccess

This rule, when properly configured, is useful for automating the task of mail management; however, if GroupWise rules are misconfigured, they can cause many unintentional consequences that could include the loss of incoming e-mail.

1. Click on the Options Image of Options iconicon, on the top picture toolbar.
2. Click on Rules in the Options windows.
3. In the pull-down menu of the "Type" section, change the type from "Vacation" to Delete."
4. Click Create.
5. In the Create Rule-Delete window type Delete Spam (or any other name you prefer) in the Rule name text box.
6. In the "Define Optional Condition" section of the window:
a. In the first box, click on the arrow and Select Subject
b. In the second box, click on the arrow and select Matches
c. In the third box, type the specific item the filter is to search and delete. Note: Subject headings     are case sensitive.
7. Click Save.
Note: It is very important for this to exactly match the unwanted e-mail for it to work. You don't want to match it to other e-mail that may also get deleted.
8. After saving, you will be returned to the Options window. If you want to add another condition, you will need to repeat numbers 5 and 6 above, changing the rule name and subject.
9. Once you have entered all the rules you wish to create, click Save on the Rules window.
The window should pop back up with the message Rules Activate Status Saved appearing under the Save button. Click Close.
All matches to the filter criteria will immediately be sent to your Trash folder.
Filter Examples:
Filtering on From would block all future messages from one person. This is helpful when repeated requests to get removed from a mailing list is ignored.

. Filtering on Subject would delete all future message that contain a specific word or title. Offensive e-mail can be automatically removed with this option.
