North Georgia College and State University, in support of academic freedom, encourages free expression and an open but secure environment for the pursuit of knowledge. However, the contents of all Web pages under university jurisdiction must comply with local, state and federal laws and North Georgia College & State University policies, rules and regulations.
Furthermore, the service to students and community of NGCSU is determined, in part, by the quality of information it publishes electronically. Therefore, the creation of a Web Advisory Comittee has been approved.
The Web Advisory Comittee is a special committee created by the President and reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. It is responsible for analysis of existing North Georgia College & State University web sites/pages with regard to policy, content and design. The Web Advisory Committee is also charged with making recommendations for creating a web policy document, evaluating the navigational content of the university home page and second level pages, and implementing design changes for Institutional web sites/pages. The Web Advisory Comittee will respond to issues concerning the use of the university’s world wide web information resources.
It is the responsibility of the Web Advisory Committee, working with the Department of Information and Instructional Technology to formulate strategic plans for the development of university web services, to advise and support the university web manager, and to provide web design and construction resources for unit web coordinators such as image archives, templates, design guides and support forums.
