The TEAS test can only be taken two times per year and test dates cannot be less than 6 weeks apart.
It is recommended that you test as early as possible.  Test is valid for 3 NGCSU application years.
     - Any TEAS test that does not follow the policy will be considered invalid & not accepted towards
admission into the NGCSU Nursing program.
    - TEAS scores of < 65% overall "adjusted composites" will not be considered for admission.
    - TEAS test results must be recieved by the nursing department by the application deadline.

    - The Nursing application is very competitive. Applicants are encouraged to apply to more than 1 school.

          a. Less than or equal to 18 months will complete the POS they were originally under
          b. Greater than 18 months will complete the new POS requirements for areas C, D, & E.

**During the admission review process, the TEAS test is just one component of the profile that is used in the selection process for the admission of students into the ASN program.  Other factors that are considered include grade point average; performance on math, science and English courses; SAT/ACT scores for recent high school graduates; previous college degrees; and overall academic record.  The TEAS test scores that are used in the application profile are the “adjusted composite” and selected “adjusted subscale scores”.  Even though there is not a pass/fail, higher scores typically equate to more favorable profile ranking.  Applicants scoring less than a 65% overall “adjusted composite” will not be considered for admission.

*In all cases a minimum of 2.75 on a 4 point scale, successful completion of any Developmental Studies courses and Pre-Admission testing are required for Admission consideration to the nursing programIt is highly recommended that all ASN applicants take a basic college level Math and English course (comparable to NGCSU Math 1101 and Eng 1101) while waiting for consideration to NGCSU.  Passing these courses or the Compass placement test are required for acceptance to NGCSU.  Additional information will be sent to students concerning basic requirements for the nursing program upon acceptance into the program.
