Welcome to the
Appalachian Nurse Practitioner Clinic

The Appalachian Nurse Practitioner clinic provides basic health care for uninsured and low income residents residing in seven counties of the North Georgia Appalachian region. The staff treat general health ailments and help patients manage their chronic diseases along with providing routine exams for preventive care.

The mission of the Appalachian Nurse Practitioner Clinic is to improve access to quality health care for the medically underserved residents of Lumpkin, Dawson, Hall, White, Fannin, Gilmer, and Union counties by providing health services while integrating student clinical experience and faculty practice in the delivery of health care services.

 

The following services are provided by the clinic:

            • Chronic Disease Management (Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity)
            • Community Outreach with a Mobile Health Unit
            • Health Education
            • Preventative Care (Physical exams, screening)
            • Primary Care

 

Medical Director:

Clinic Manager:

  • Marie Emery, MS, RN, NP-C, FNP-BC

Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00
  • Friday 8:00-12:00

Requirements to be seen at the clinic:

          1. Resident of Lumpkin, Dawson, White, Hall, Union, Fannin, or Gilmer county
          2. No Medical Insurance
          3. Proof of income-provide a W-2 tax form, check stub, or employer income
              verification*
          4. Photo Identification or Passport
          *Fees are based on income and appointments are required.

To find the Appalachian Nurse Practitioner Clinic:

From the Square in Dahlonega, proceed west on West Main Street

  • Go past Price Memorial on the left (i.e. the NGCSU building with the gold steeple)
  • Turn RIGHT onto Sunset Drive
  • Look for the Health and Natural Sciences Building at the top of the hill on the left.
  • The clinic is located in room 102, just past the elevator on the right.

Parking is behind the building.  Look for the spaces marked Reserved for Clinic Patients.  If you need additional directions, please call (706) 864-1400.
