GERONTOLOGY
CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

North Georgia College & State University has been offering a Gerontology Certificate program for the past six years.  We are pleased to be a part of the Georgia Gerontology Consortium through the Distance Learning Partnership in Gerontology to offer both undergraduate and graduate courses in Gerontology.  The scholarly and practical preparation required in this program has provided practitioners,  researchers, and students invaluable education and understanding.

In the summer of 2004 the USG Board of Regents approved this program to meet the requirements of a Minor in Gerontology.  The program offers a unique interdisciplinary approach to Gerontology.  The courses offered for the program may fulfill elective degree requirements as well as meeting requirements for a certificate or a minor in gerontology.  Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate.  Degree seeking students will have the minor noted on their transcripts.
