Department of Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy education exists in two distinct levels: entry-level is designed to educate individuals to become physical therapists; post-professional level is designed to further enhance the knowledge and skills of practicing physical therapists. North Georgia College and State University has continuously operated an entry-level program since 1992. However, as of Summer Semester 2006, it will begin offering a new entry-level program as a partner member of the Consortium Doctorate of Physical Therapy that will award the Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) degree upon completion of a three-year professional program that includes nine consecutive semesters of didactic work and clinical education. The Consortium Doctorate of Physical Therapy includes entry-level programs at the Medical College of Georgia, North Georgia College and State University, and Armstrong Atlantic State University.
