Criminal Justice as a Major
Criminal Justice as a major focuses on the study
of crime,
its causes and its effects on society. The discipline is concerned with
preventing criminal behavior, rehabilitating offenders and providing a
system where justice and rights are served. The Criminal Justice major
is designed to broaden the future professional's perspective, in
addition
to preparing students to deal with such specialized areas as law
enforcement,
corrections, law and security.
The B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice Program at North Georgia College and State University reflects the growing academic emphasis of the discipline. The curriculum of the major provides a broad conceptual framework from which students are encouraged to develop individual specialities. The program seeks to develop leaders in the field who are able to integrate and augment the knowledge of the discipline.
