Management Major

Individuals who earn the job title “manager” enjoy a career that is complex, multidimensional, and requires a range of skills.  Managers utilize a variety of conceptual, human, and technical skills to efficiently and effectively attain organizational goals.  They engage in the four primary functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.  Managers create the conditions for their organizations to succeed, and they train and develop successors so the organization will continue to thrive even after their departure.

The management program at NGCSU will equip you to succeed in this dynamic profession.  Graduates of NGCSU’s management program:

  • Understand the basic operations of businesses by completing foundation courses in accounting, business law, economics, finance, international business, management, marketing, production, statistical methods, and strategic management.

  • Are prepared to fulfill the essential functions of management – planning, organizing, leading and controlling – by learning and applying the latest quantitative and qualitative leadership and management techniques.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the essential functions of management by successfully completing case studies and applied projects in strategic management, production and operations management, human resources management, labor-management relations, leadership, small business management, managerial accounting, and organizational behavior.

NGCSU’s management graduates are successful leaders in a wide variety of business careers and in the military.
