other capital letters the accent mark does not show.
METHOD # 2
Another way to get accent marks on a PC is to add the French languge
keyboard to your keyboard configurations. We will use the Canadian
French
keyboard, since it resembles the US keyboard more closely than does
the
Standard French keyboard. Here is how to do it.
From your desktop click on
- My Computer
-Control Panel
-Keyboard
-Languges Tab at top
-Add key
-Scroll to French (Canadian) and click
-OK
The new Canadian French keyboard will be added to your
system. Unless you change the default setting, English will remain
your
default keyboard, meaning that you will need to change to the French
keyboard
when you want to type French.
To switch between the English and French keyboard, click on the blue
box icon with
the letters EN (or FR) in it. Choose the language you want. You
can switch back and
forth in one document as often as you wish.
Here are some of the changes you will need to know about on the Canadian
French
keyboard.
For the letter desired Do this
| é | ? key |
| à è ù | ' plus the letter with accent grave over that letter |
| â ê î ô û | Hold shift key + { key, release, then type letter for circumflex over the letter |
| ä ë ï | Hold shift key + } key, release, then type letter for tréma over letter |
| ç and Ç | ALT + 0231 ; ALT + 0199 |
| Capitals | Same as above, but hold down Shift key |
| ' | SHIFT key + , |
| " | SHIFT key + 2 |
| ? | SHIFT + 6 |
REMEMBER. The only capital letter with an accent mark you need
is the Ç. For all
other capital letters the accent mark does not show.
