Pamela Sachant received her Master of Arts in Art History with a concentration in nineteenth-century French art from the University of Washington and her doctorate in Art History with specializations in American art and Baroque art and art theories from the University of Delaware. Her dissertation, The Art and Life of Eddie Arning, examined the work of the twentieth-century self-taught artist with emphases on the aesthetics of his art and the dynamics of marketing and collecting in the world of contemporary folk art. Her current research interests include art of southern Appalachia, including North Georgia artist Billy Roper, and issues surrounding the photographic scene in the United States at the beginning of the twentieth century. Dr. Sachant's publications have been included in Raw Vision, Archives of American Art, and Folk Art.
