Dr. You Ju Lee

Keyboard, Music History
 

A native of Korea, You Ju Lee received her B.A. in Music (Piano) from Ewha Women's University. She studied under Ruth McDonald at Georgia State University and continued her studies in New York at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester under Barry Snyder, and the Manhattan School of Music under Dr. Marc Silverman. Ms. Lee returned to Georgia to pursue her Doctorate at the University of Georgia, under Dr. Richard Zimdars. Dr. Lee received her D.M.A. in Piano Performance in May 2000.

Dr. Lee is an accomplished pianist who has won numerous awards and has performed recitals in Europe, Asia and the United States. She has served on the faculty at North Georgia College & State University since Fall 2000.

Dr. Lee was featured in an interview for the July 2004 issue of the monthly Korean music magazine Eumagchunchu. In July she played in Paris with Germaine Mounier at the International Summer Sessions at Ecole Normale de Musique Salle Cortot. In September 2004 Dr. Lee was a featured piano soloist during her international tour of Germany at the Sommerakademie für Klavier Konz. Dr. Lee performed at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul, Korea on June 9, 2005. On April 23, 2006, she gave her New York Debut Recital at Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall, in the Special Presentation Winners Series sponsored by Artists International. In July 2006, she performed recitals in Sicily and Germany.
