NGCSU Jazz Festival
with Fred Wesley, trombone

7:30 p.m. Thursday & Friday,
November 16 & 17, 2006
Hoag Student Center Auditorium

NGCSU is pleased to feature legendary jazz trombonist Fred Wesley, who led the horn section of the James Brown Band for many years, together with the NGCSU Jazz Orchestra and the David Brothers Quintet in an unforgettable evening concert of jazz favorites. The Jazz Orchestra will perform the first set, followed by a set featuring Wesley backed up by the David Brothers Quintet. Wesley will perform on a number of swinging classics, as well as a few hard-driving funk tunes that are sure to bring down the house.

Friday evening's concert is the feature event of the 2006 Annual Conference of the Georgia Association of Jazz Educators, which is being held on the NGCSU Campus.

The concert is free and open to the public. Hoag Auditorium is located in the Hoag Student Center, which is two buildings east of gold-steepled Price Hall on the NGCSU Campus in Dahlonega. For further information, please contact the Fine Arts Department at 706-864-1423.
